Smarrelli General Contractor, Inc. was founded in 1963 by Edward Smarrelli. We pride ourselves in being a family-owned business operating as an open shop and working all year around.  In 1989, the management team began to expand with Brad Smarrelli assuming role as President, Steve Shute as General Manager, and Cindy Spears as Office Manager.  This management team has grown the business exponentially while establishing their brand as quality construction, within budget, completed in a timely manner. 

In July of 2023, ownership transitioned to Torey and Deanna Hunt of Richmond, Indiana.  Torey built his career developing family-owned construction businesses, as a millwright specializing in agricultural, aggregate, industrial construction and maintenance.  Deanna’s career has solely been focused on agricultural and business finance, as she holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Animal Science, with a concentration in Agricultural Economics. It is their intention for the Smarrelli name, quality, reputation, and community presence to continue to excel and grow, moving forward as Smarrelli General Contractors.  In addition to the Hunt’s, Bill Killen has joined the management team as Assistant General Manager to help continue to build on the solid foundation laid by Brad and Steve for the past several decades.  Long-time employee, Mike Goeke has also stepped up into a leadership role in employee management, in addition to his other job responsibilities. 

With an excellent record in all phases of commercial, industrial, and residential construction, we take great pride in being a preferred local contractor, concentrating within a 25-mile radius of Richmond, Indiana. Currently, a large majority of our business consists of commercial and residential concrete construction, building improvements/additions, new construction in pre-engineered steel buildings and conventional wood framing.  We also offer preparation of grounds, excavation, steel erection, and carpentry finishings. It is our goal to provide top-notch service, as a one-stop shop for your project from the ground up.
 
In addition to our experienced staff, we also work with a very knowledgeable team of mechanical and electrical contractors to provide complete systems designed for efficiency and functionality.
